Registration Form for ALDOT Asphalt Level 1 Training Course

image4438.jpg This is a four-day classroom and laboratory course (takes place over two half-days and three full days). The emphasis will be the accomplishment of the test procedures necessary to control the quality of HMA pavements. It will include a review of the HMA plant and how to produce quality HMA mixtures; volumetric analysis of HMA; a discussion of sampling of HMA mixtures - techniques for obtaining and handling samples and random sampling; and detailed review of the following tests: Rice & bulk specific gravity; laboratory compaction of HMA mixtures (Marshall & Superpave); determination of asphalt content by ignition and nuclear gauge; determination of gradation by extraction; determination of fine aggregate angularity and clay content (sand equivalent).

The Radiation Safety Course is a prerequisite for this course.

Fees:

Registration fee: $550/student
Written retake: $150/student

The costs for housing, food, and transportation are the responsibility of each student.

Deadline:

Pre-payment and registration is required, and must be received no later than 10 days prior to the start date of the course.

Refunds:

Cancellations two weeks prior to the start date of the course will result in a complete refund of registration fee. No refunds will be provided for a cancellation after that date.
