Graduate

The Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering offers on-campus graduate programs  in Polymer and Fiber Engineering leading to the degrees of Master of Science (thesis and non-thesis options) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

On June, 18, 2010, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE) approved a new Ph.D. program in Polymer and Fiber Engineering. This Ph.D. degree, along with the current Master's and Bachelor degrees, completes the creation of a strong program in polymer and fiber engineering at Auburn University which is unique in the state.

Instruction is offered and research facilities are available to support graduate study in  many fields as they relate to polymers and fiber engineering including biopolymers, natural and synthetic polymers, polymer blends and copolymers, nano-materials and their composites, polymer synthesis, processing and characterization, polymer rheology, polymer physics, smart fibers and composites materials.

Assistantships are awarded by individual faculty from their sponsored research grants. For availability, please contact faculty members directly.

Auburn University is recognized as a leading large public institution with emphasis in engineering, business and agriculture. Located in an affordable college community less than 2 hours drive southwest of Atlanta, Auburn's student population numbers approximately 23,000.
