Computing Facilities

Computer LabThe civil engineering computer lab was refurbished and enlarged, by combining rooms 216 and 217. The lab contains 30 IBM, 256 MB, PC 2700 computers with 3.5 inch, DVD read and CD read/write drives. All systems are connected to the internet and enabled for e-mail. An instructor station with local computer, overhead computer projector, VCR, transparency/image projector, and laptop/local computer switch enables the use of all modern instructional and presentation methods.

A "white wall" enables the use of dry erasable pens for those who prefer the classical methods of instruction. The computers have all of the software requested for freshmen purchase as well as specialized programs to support most civil engineering disciplines. Output devices include a letter size printer, a large format printer, and a HP Design Jet plotter.
