The automatic archival system - M+Archive - is significantly different than the archival system in the Groupwise system. With the increased quotas (increasing from 400mb in Groupwise to 5000 mb in Outlook), your reasons for archiving should also change. With Groupwise, most people moved messages to archive when they ran out of space. With the M+archive system, you can think of your archive as an automatic backup of your older messages.
Messages that exist in your live mailbox for more than 21 days are automatically copied from your live mailbox into your M+ Exchange Archive. You cannot move messages into the archive manually. If you run out of space in your live mailbox, you should find older messages (at least 21 days). Confirm that those messages are already in your M+Archive. Then, you can feel safe to delete those messages from your live mailbox.
Once messages get copied into the M+Archive system, they cannot be deleted. You cannot reply to the messages. You can forward them from your archive or you can print them.
