Facilities
The engineering quad is located on the north side of the Auburn campus, bounded by Magnolia Street, Duncan Drive, and West Thatch Avenue. The quad includes a number of neoclassic historic buildings constructed in the late 1920s, such as Ramsay Hall, Ross Hall and the Textile Building, as well as newer structures such as Broun Hall, Harbert Engineering Center and the Aerospace Engineering Building.
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering occupies 374,000 square feet of building space, with approximately 36,000 square feet devoted to classrooms, 8,000 to space for student organizations, 59,000 to teaching laboratories, and 33,000 to labs that perform dual duty for teaching and research. In addition, there are almost 97,000 square feet of research labs and 141,000 square feet of office and administrative space.
Five years ago, the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering outlined a bold vision for the future. That future was built on a foundation of facility enhancements that included the renovations of Wilmore Laboratories and Ross Hall, as well as the construction of a new engineering complex.
