Postdoctoral Fellow

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University located in Auburn, Alabama (http://www.eng.auburn.edu) is seeking candidates for the position of postdoctoral fellow in engineering. Postdoctoral positions become available periodically under a variety of research grants and projects in the college. We are seeking applications from individuals with a Ph.D. in any one area of engineering such as:  aerospace, chemical, civil, computer science and software, electrical and computer, industrial and systems, mechanical and polymer and fiber engineering. Also of interest are related fields of microelectronics, automotive electronics, microfibers, highway research, materials, asphalt technology, pulp and paper, chemistry, transportation, detection and food safety and information technology. The positions are available for a minimum of one year as full-time 12-month, with renewal possible. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The selected candidates for these positions must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment, excellent communication skills required. Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering

Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering at Auburn University is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track faculty position starting August 15th, 2012. Appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level classes and developing new classes in the Fiber engineering option, supervising M.S. and Ph.D. students and establishing and maintaining an externally funded research program. Candidates with a demonstrated excellence in research and interest in a fiber area such as multifunctional fibers, sensors, optics, electronics, biomedical uses, lasers, energy applications and interface science are encouraged to apply. An earned doctorate in Polymer and Fiber Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline is required and a post-doctoral/industrial experience is preferred.
